We are currently seeking to add Airframe Mechanics to our team.

Position Overview:

The Airframe Mechanic performs Servicing, Elementary Work, Maintenance, and authorized Specialized Maintenance tasks on aircraft airframe structure, airframe and engine systems, and components in accordance with the approved maintenance program and using technical data including, but not limited to, technical manuals and drawings. Airframe Mechanic tasks include removal, disassembly, survey inspection, disposition/servicing/conditioning of removed components and parts, repair, modification, reassembly, installation, and support to Airframe Technicians.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Safely operates support equipment and hand/power tools while adhering to Tool and FOD control procedures. Maintains a clean/safe work area utilizing safe work practices and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs corrosion removal; standard and non-standard structural repairs; repair part local manufacture; standard and advanced fastener removals and installations, and primary structure refurbishment including disassembly, replacement and reassembly.
  • Performs component R&O inspection and survey and performs subsequent repairs, product and modification kit assembly, manufacture, modification, and identification of parts and components for aircraft or other products manufactured, repaired or overhauled by the company. Works with various composites used in the manufacture and repair of aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Performs ramp duties including, but not limited to, marshalling, parking, towing, fuelling/defueling, servicing, and post/pre-flight inspections. Assists Airframe Technicians to perform the required maintenance after flight test.
  • Performs authorized airworthiness functions of Shop Certification Authority (SCA) and Product Conformance Authority (PCA).
  • Travels and works on off-site Mobile Repair Parties/Field Teams, and Work Parties. Provides on-job-training (OJT) and technical supervision to other Airframe Mechanics. Attends trade training and development sessions for qualifications/authorization purposes. Adheres to policies, procedures and directives as established by the company.

Position Requirements:

  • Must meet one of the following eligibility streams: a graduate of recognized aircraft maintenance or apprenticeship program, hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) license, be qualified as an Aviation Technician with the Canadian Forces, or be a graduate of an equivalent foreign military/civilian basic trade-training program.
  • Transport Canada licensed AME's (M2) or AME's (S) or candidates with FAA/JAA equivalent for Transport Canada license or experience as Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) and experience in heavy maintenance (C & D checks) or aircraft wing upgrades are considered assets.
  • Possess basic to detailed knowledge of aircraft structures and systems including, but not limited to, flight controls, hydraulic and oil distribution systems, fuel systems, oxygen systems, landing gear systems, engine systems (including auxiliary power unit (APU) systems), transmission and drive train systems, propeller and rotor systems, life support and cargo systems, and cabin pressurization systems.
  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as technical manuals, drawings and Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Work Orders (WOs), Request for Engineering Services (RES) instructions and associated data.
  • Must demonstrate a compliant and skilled level of task proficiency, which is acquired by course or on the job training and practical experience, for authorization for the performance of maintenance (POM) and must demonstrate a basic understanding of airworthiness requirements for authorization to perform airworthiness functions.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
