Our client, a leader in its industry for over thirty years, is an international engineering company that concentrates on design and service of industrial controls and power systems supplying engineering expertise.  They provide engineering solutions to various sectors including oil & gas, mining, water and wastewater management, manufacturing, and food & beverage. 

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing between 35-40 employees in both the Dartmouth and Saint John, NB offices. As the lead, you will conduct, oversee and manage the engineering design and delivery of projects as well as support the technical preparation of proposals. 

Other responsibilities include:

• Monitor progress on projects, take corrective action where needed to control engineering budget and schedule
• Monitor project financial data, lead team meetings, report on project status to stakeholders and assist with chairing executive meetings
• Read, analyze and interpret engineering related materials, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Quality assurance and quality control
• Train, supervise and motivate subordinates toward high performance and contribute to a positive work environment
• Implement new strategic business relationships
• Oversee operations of the panel and fabrication department  
• Will travel at least 25%.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university along with a professional engineering designation (P.Eng). A minimum of 10+ years experience in industrial power, instrumentation and controls field. You will also have a strong background in project management and experience with PMI or PMP is considered an asset. Strong technical application knowledge in process controls, DCS, Electrical, and Automation is a must. We need a leader!
