Our client is part of one of Eastern Canada's leading industrial groups, specializing in new ship construction, ship repair, ship conversion and vessel refits. We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and self directed individual to assist in their workforce growth and development initiative.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, manage design change request and change request process
- Manage integrity of vessel configuration data
- Document communications related to configuration changes and ensure documentation is available when needed
- Produce design configuration status reports
- Control drawing and technical document release
- Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Educational Requirements:
- Five years of technical experience related to configuration management within engineering projects
- Interpret and integrate technical concepts, read drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of marine industry standards and/or regulations and Shipboard equipment and systems
- Shipyard process experience, especially with respect to the engineering, planning, repair/build phases
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
- Experience with specialized database software for the purpose of configuration management
- Auditing experience
