Our client is part of one of Eastern Canada's leading industrial groups, specializing in new ship construction, ship repair, ship conversion and vessel refits.  We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and self directed individual to assist in their workforce growth and development initiative.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, manage design change request and change request process 
• Manage integrity of vessel configuration data 
• Document communications related to configuration changes and ensure documentation is available when needed 
• Produce design configuration status reports 
• Control drawing and technical document release 
• Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Five years of technical experience related to configuration management within engineering projects 
• Interpret and integrate technical concepts, read drawings and specifications 
• Knowledge of marine industry standards and/or regulations and Shipboard equipment and systems 
• Shipyard process experience, especially with respect to the engineering, planning, repair/build phases 
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) 
• Experience with specialized database software for the purpose of configuration management 
• Auditing experience
