Project Engineer

One of our Saskatchewan based mining clients is currently looking for a Project Engineer to work in Regina. You will participate in our client’s graduate training program for mining engineers, which consists of:

  • Underground practical skills training through participation in development and production crews
  • Contract administration/Project Engineering
  • Shift supervision and project supervision
  • Estimating
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Data Compilation and Preparation – Compile data and prepare reports for use by the Project Manager in evaluating key performance indicators and critical tasks as required
  • Reporting and Scheduling – Ensure that all reports to the client as required under the contract are completed in a timely fashion.  Ensure that all internal reports as required by the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Recording – Collate and record information, including the design of appropriate forms and implementation of procedures as required for the preparation of progress claims, extra work orders, scheduling and forecasting.  Maintain appropriate records for the purpose of calculating payroll on a semi monthly basis.
  • Payroll – Prepare in conjunction with the site clerk payroll information for transmittal to head office.  In particular, prepare bonus calculations for approval by the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager.
  • Document Control – Ensure that all contract correspondence, discussions, notes, estimates, calculations etc. are filed and kept in an appropriate manner for future and ongoing reference.
  • Estimating - Assist in the preparation of bid estimates for ongoing work.
  • Progress Claims – Provide assistance to the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager in preparing the monthly progress claims.
  • Data Compilation and Preparation – Compile data and prepare reports for use by the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager in evaluating key performance indicators and critical tasks as required.
  • Equipment and Performance Reporting – Ensure that equipment performance and cost information for the equipment fleet is recorded and submitted as required by head office.
  • Other duties as requested by the Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager.
