Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide conceptual design, feasibility study, estimation, project coordination, contract specifications, and project commissioning for assigned work within their respective disciplines. They will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and/or technologists. They will provide technical support to plant operational and maintenance personnel. They will provide workable and economical engineering design solutions to plant managers; provide work estimates and assemble multi-discipline design on assigned projects. They will also coordinate multi-discipline design activities, when applicable, on projects. They will design and/or select various systems to provide solutions to customer related problems in the area of expertise and obtain management approval of design recommendations. This role directly reports to the Supervising Engineer.
Required Skills in Priority:
- You will be responsible for managing the development of engineering solutions with minimal direction.
- You will participate and/or lead project teams.
- You will provide supervision of personnel in times of immediate supervisor's absence.
- You will mentor junior members of the Central Engineering Team.
- You will provide detailed design reviews of work by others within the Central Engineering Team.
- You will coordinate projects up to $10,000,000 while controlling deliverables, cost and schedule.
- Your work will build upon a foundation of experience in plant power distribution up to 13.8 KV, control and automation (PLC, HMI, motors and drives)
- Familiar with applicable electrical codes within Canada.
Professional Requirements:
- Must be registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (APEGM).
- Preference will be given to Professional Engineers currently registered with affiliated Provincial Associations.
Other:
- Applicant requires knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality. Applicant should have some limited experience programming PLC and HMI systems. (looking for diverse experience)
- Advantageous if applicant has worked with Allen Bradley (Rockwell) SLC 500, ControlLogix, Allen Bradley PanelView HMI, Telemecanique PLCs, Wonderware
- Applicant should have experience in drive selection and configuration, 600 volt, medium voltage is an added benefit.
