Hardware Technician

Employee Role

Employee will be supporting Submarine Combat Systems Engineering Field Services.

As a technician/technologist you will perform various roles in support of the Canadian Navy's submarine program. The primary role will be to provide support to a 4-member Lockheed Martin submarine support team performing hardware installation and maintenance. You will also work on the submarine trainer projects developing change specifications, training documentation and technical trade studies.

This work includes liaising with Lockheed Martin employees and DND to resolve technical issues; meeting with management and customer representatives to discuss status of ongoing activities, potential problems, and long-range planning; and working with other team members to resolve any number of hardware or system related issues.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Draft Equipment Change specifications and associated documents.
• Draft Technical Training Documentation
• Draft Technical Trials Documentation
• Conduct Technical Trials, Draft reports and recommendations
• Provide In Service Technical Support to Victoria Class Submarines and Supporting Agencies
• Provide In Service Technical Support to Victoria Class Submarine Trainers

Qualifications/Experience

Certificate or Diploma from recognised technical institution or/and military equivalent training experience in electronics or electrical or control systems.
Any Victoria Class Submarine Technical Systems experience would be highly desirable

The successful candidate must be eligible to meet requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
