Position available: Inspection Technician (NDT)

Position Summary:
This is technical work related to the inspection of aircraft engine components for structural and physical soundness.
Position Accountabilities
- Perform Non-Destructive inspections on components to verify material structural integrity, this includes:
- Reading the ERI and/or the applicable OEM manual, to determine the type and sensitivity of the inspection required.
- Using the Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI or FPI) method, as per Atlantic PCP's and PWC SPOP's.
- To identify the size and location of any indications found.
- Using the Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) method, as per Atlantic PCP's and PWC SPOP's to identify the size and location of any indications found.
- Tag components, indicating the number of indicators, identify components as being inspected.
- Update on-line inspection database as required.
- Identify any non-conformances and complete the NCR as required.
- Attaining certification from CGSB level II competency for both LPI and MPI techniques.
- Perform maintenance on equipment as scheduled by the preventative maintenance program.
- Read the ERI (Engineering Repair Instruction) and /or applicable OEM (Original Engine Manufacture) manuals to determine what inspection results are required.
- Perform all other duties as required to ensure departmental efficiencies. This position will be subject to shift work, occasional overtime, weekends and holiday on-call as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent, with a preference of two years of post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
- CGSB certified in Liquid Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle Inspection, consideration will be given to applicants possessing LPI/MPI training, work experience, or previous NAS certifications.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good visual acuity, be able to meet the minimum eye test requirements.
- Experience in the use of PC's and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access).
- Salary to be commensurate with experience.
