ALLSCO Building Products Ltd. is a well established and leading Atlantic Canadian based manufacturer of premium quality windows, doors and siding. ALLSCO is celebrating over 30 years of successful operations and as a result of continued growth; an excellent opportunity is currently available for a Plant Manager, at our Head Office and manufacturing plant in Moncton, NB.
Duties:
Job responsibilities will include the daily management of production staff and unionized production employees. Specific duties involve the hands-on implementation of lean manufacturing and cost reduction systems with an accountability for standard production reporting with a focus on obtaining specific production targets and key performance indicators (KPI’s). Maintaining proper internal controls; labor efficiency gains; wastage control reviews; implementation of lean manufacturing; providing support to other departments while improving employee relations; and other functions as assigned. The primary function and objectives relevant to this position will be to ensure the production department and manufacturing facility runs effectively and efficiently to meet and exceed ALLSCO customer requirements while enhancing overall productivity.
Specific Duties :
- Oversee the entire Production and Manufacturing Departments.
- Oversee the production schedule so as to ensure required shipping dates are met.
- Ensure productivity level standards are met, with a focus on improving them.
- Improve plant capacity so as to increase daily output capacity with consistency.
- Ensure waste levels are met, and continually improved upon.
- Ensure quality program is in place and monitored.
- Ensure that plant processing times are consistent and kept to a minimum.
- Supervise and coach department employees to meet and exceed manufacturing targets.
- Liason with Sales and other departments to ensure highest level customer service.
- Manage Required By Dates so as to ensure that they are met.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have strong leadership qualities with excellent analytical and communications skills, work environment improvement capabilities, experienced knowledge in principles of Lean Manufacturing with a strong background in production environments and continuous improvement systems. Accomplished credentials supported by way of an Engineering Degree with a focus on Industrial Processing studies. Strong problem solving and mechanical abilities are required with good experience with production information systems and reports. A minimum of 3 years experience in production efficiency management (continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaisen, Q.A., etc) is required. This position entails upwards of 90% time allocation on the factory floor to implement and sustain procedure changes for operational efficiency gains to be realized thru Process Flow Analysis and Lean Manufacturing principles.
