Controls Supervisor

Accountabilities:  You will provide supervision and technical leadership to the Controls (Electrical and Instrumentation) group, at the Point Aconi Generating Station. As part of your function you will:

  • Ensure that work is conducted in a safe and effective manner
  • Interact with Management, Supervisory, Planning and Engineering Teams
  • Set accountabilities for your work group
  • Provide coaching, development, and counselling to your employees 
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Provide maintenance supervision on projects and outages
  • Audit work to ensure safety, quality and efficiency
  • Apply the guiding principles of  ‘communication, involvement, recognition and relationships built on trust and respect’
  • Participate in NSPI’s Capabilities Development Process
  • Develop teamwork and integration of electrical and instrumentation with other Departments

Skills, Capabilities and Experience: 

You must possess a Grade XII education or equivalent and possess Instrumentation or Electrical Journeyperson Certificate, or a Technology Diploma in a related field. An Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree would be considered an asset.

You must possess effective oral and written communication skills as well as proven leadership qualities and supervisory experience. Eight to ten (8-10) years Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment is required.

This position offers a compensation package commensurate with the role and includes a base salary, incentive, and benefits package.
