Register.com's new Halifax office is seeking talented individuals to fill the role of Software Engineer. This position will be responsible for a seasoned J2EE professional with 6+ years experience developing and designing enterprise software products using Java and related J2EE technologies. The person is experienced in all phases of SDLC. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and expertise in Java, XML, Servlets, Struts, EJB, JMS, JDBC, Hibernate and Spring.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Software requirement analysis, architecture and design and development in J2EE technologies.
• Develops design, functional, and technical documentation on assigned projects
• Provides maintenance and support for Register.com product offerings.
• Performs hands on development in a team environment in supporting the team goals, and improves software engineering practices
• Conducts on-going performance analysis, tuning, and measurement of software applications
• Provides estimates for software development efforts on assigned projects and delivers on-time
• Shares on-call 3rd level support responsibilities within the development team

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field. 6+ years experience in design, coding and unit testing of enterprise-level scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications in J2EE environments. Experience with one of the J2EE app server technologies e.g. JBOSS, Web Logic, WebSphere etc.
