Brilun Construction is inviting applications for the position of Project Manager, in commercial construction. The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects within budget, on schedule, in accordance with the established scope of work and to the customer’s satisfaction. The Project Manager is responsible for responding to customers’ needs by providing effective and economical project alternatives and solutions for their facility needs in accordance to Architectural design specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the senior management of Brilun Construction, The project manager shall supervise individual projects reaching into the millions of dollars in value.
- manage the overall projects and coordinate all of the various activities required to complete the projects on time, within budget, in accordance with the established scope of work, and to the customers’ satisfaction;
- ensure that all project components and activities meet local, provincial and/or federal codes and regulations;
- develop project work plans and schedules;
- prepare cost estimates and project budgets;
- direct and co-ordinate technical employees or consultants on site regarding, designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates;
- utilize best practice purchasing pro cedures for request for proposals, tenders and other competitive selection procedures, and oversee the tendering process as required;
- communicate and report progress to customers and or their representatives to ensure that they are informed of project progress, and that all their concerns are being addressed and resolved to their satisfaction;
- approve trade, supplier and contractor invoices regarding project specifications, field change orders, etc.;
- ensure ongoing quality and workmanship of authorized trades, suppliers and contracts;
- reconcile project performance against plan at project completion, and conduct customer satisfaction assessments and follow up;
- promote a strong customer service and ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining open and honest communications with customers;
- provide high quality project management services to assure proper performance of engineered equipment and building systems;
- enforce corporate standards, policies, procedures, best practices and training programs, and ensure conformance with Brilun Construction’s policies and procedures;
- maintain healthy and safe workplace, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and legislation, including occupational health and safety, WHMIS and hazardous substances programs;
- maintain accurate and complete records, and report on all operational and contractual matters monthly, or more frequently as required by project;
- ensure high standards of ethical and professional conduct on job sites; and
- establish and maintain positive and effective working relations with Brilun’s management and staff;
- Possess a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and be prepared to use personal vehicle in accordance with Brilun’s mileage agreement.
