Our client has an immediate opening for Forepersons for their operation. As the Foreperson, you will possess the following skill set:

Work experience Requirements:

• Three to five years experience as a qualified and competent tradesperson, with experience in industrial and/or heavy construction projects/sites;
• Experience working with collective agreements (where applicable);
• Experience acting as a leader/role model for others (leads by example);
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, take responsibility, act ethically & with integrity.

Educational Requirements:

• Has completed Leadership for Safety Excellence;
• Has completed Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) training;
• Has a current Standard First Aid Certificate;
• Co mpletion of a formal supervisory training program preferred (Better Supervision, Merit Supervisory Training Program, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental legislation;
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation Board requirements;
• Fundamental understanding of all relevant employment-related legislation;
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills;
• Strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation & prioritization skills;
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Computer skills including working knowledge of common software applications;
• Ability to read blueprints.
