We are presently seeking Construction Project Manager(s) to work with our Wireless Network Implementation Team in Halifax. The Construction Project Manager (PM) will manage EastLink’s Wireless Network project implementation from receipt of building permit to the site being operational.
The successful candidate will have the ability to handle stress, face multiple deadlines and deliver projects simultaneously while establishing good working relationships with peers, management and business associates. Strong negotiating skills will strengthen the Construction PM(s) ability to challenge business decisions when needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Establish Construction Standards for wireless access sites and ensure the standards are applied & followed.

Manage Civil Engineering design for access sites through sub-contractors and ensure all EastLink towers are compliant with the building code CSA-S37

Responsible for the bidding process, including the preparation of tender documents, of access sites in a given area

Manages the implementation of wireless access sites from the ‘Ready for construction’ milestone to the actual commissioning of the wireless site, including sub contractors involved in Tower construction and EF&I

Support RF Engineering and Site Acquisition functional units in order to speed up the network deployment process (provide Engineering drawings, land surveys, tower structural analysis etc.)

Establish, follow & improve network construction metrics

Contribute to the preparation of Access Capital budget for wireless sites and implement processes to lower the access capital costs.

Manages the execution of ‘infrastructure related’ maintenance activities requested by the Network Operations team.

Coordinate through NavCan and Transport Canada for beacon light requirements on telecom towers

Coordinate the interconnection of sites to the power grid with Power Companies

Ensure site related infrastructure hardware (towers, wooden poles, fences, etc) is ordered in time to meet construction schedule

Ensure corrective measures or deficiencies reported from site/tower inspection report get implemented/corrected
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering with 7 years of relevant telecommunication construction experience or Technical Degree/Diploma with 10 years relevant experience

Experience in managing large construction projects

Strong understanding of wireless tower construction.

Understanding of basic wireless (RF) principles & technology

Experience with the tendering process for Telecommunication sites construction

Strong and effective hands-on project management experience.

Project Management Certification considered an asset

Excellent computer skills
-
Must possess a valid drivers license.
