EastLink is currently seeking a Technical Trainer(s) to work with their Operations Team located in various regions throughout Canada.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the training and experience level testing of all Field Technicians in EastLink’s Operations Department. Additionally, research into new products and test equipment introduced to the Outside Plant must be done in order to keep technicians knowledgeable in their use. The Technical Trainer will be a self learner and motivator to stay current with changes in technology in the industry.

You will be a self starter and motivator while having the ability to develop strong relationships with peers, management and key business contacts while demonstrating your ability to adapt, think outside the box while being able to handle multiple deadlines and deliver several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Development of training programs as required for Technicians
• Present training courses to all levels of Field Technicians and Technical Managers in a professional and organized manner.
• Research and develop training courses for new equipment deployed in the field.
• Source effective training tools to aid in the training of Field Technicians, and make recommendations.
• Manage testing procedures by keeping level tests (Service, System and Advanced System Technician) current and up to date in the areas of theory and practical.
• Maintain relationships with internal departments in order to stay current on changes occurring in the field, equipment and design.
• Development of training facilities
• Travel throughout EastLink service areas required
• French language skills considered an asset

Qualifications:

• Post Secondary education and/or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Experience in adult education considered an asset
• 5-7 years experience in Outside Plant knowledge of Fiber/Coaxial Cable Systems
• Strong communication abilities
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Must possess a valid drivers license
