We are currently seeking a Technical Writer for our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia location.
The Technical Writer reports to the Director of Project Delivery, and will be responsible for:
- Creating documentation, reviewing existing documentation for accuracy, and implementing changes/updates to documentation as necessary
- Tracking documentation changes
- Photographing products, manipulating digital photos, and placement of photos in documents
- Interviewing team members regarding the functionality of the product to create robust documentation
- Evaluating the documentation deliverables required for new products, and developing a plan for delivery of documentation deliverables
- Editing the documentation of other writers
- Supporting other departments with documentation related tasks, in particular editing of documents
The successful candidate will possess:
- College or university degree in Technology, Journalism, Education, or English, or related combination of education and experience
- Previous experience as a technical writer would be an asset; Aptitude for understanding and explaining technology
- Ability to develop, combine, manipulate and edit compiled help files; Experience with the creation and manipulation of .pdf files
- Proficiency with image capture and photo manipulation software
- Proficiency with various Editing Software packages and Microsoft Office Applications
