Clinical Director of Speech-Language Pathology

Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres is accepting applications for the full-time, term position of Clinical Director of Speech-Language Pathology. This position is a twelve-month position beginning as soon as possible.
Reporting to the Director of Speech-Language Pathology and in collaboration with the management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of clinical services for assigned sites/programs in the province. Responsibilities include overseeing Centres’ policy and procedures, management of human resources (recruiting, orientation, professional support, performance management), program leadership (for service development, implementation and evaluation) in partnership with other organizations, and management of material and professional development resources. This position involves a part-time management portfolio and a part-time clinical caseload. This position offers opportunities in health care management, student teaching, clinical case management, professional education and mentorship, and implementing provincial initiatives. The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout Nova Scotia. The work location will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- CASLPA certification or eligible for certification
- Minimum of three years clinical experience
- Supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Excellent communication skills, problem solving and team process skills
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software Package
Assets:
- Management related personal professional development activity
- Program development and/or evaluation skills
- Inter-disciplinary community based service delivery across clinical care continuum
- Experience with inter-agency collaboration in service delivery
- Ability to provide bi-lingual clinical services
