Our client has an immediate opportunity for a GIS Programmer Analyst to provide development and support to enterprise level Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions within their company. These solutions are primarily focused on Forestry, but could include Non-forestry Land Management, Media, Transportation, or Retail.

Responsibilities:

Provide GIS new system development and support using the following technologies (in order of importance):

• ArcGIS 9.x including desktop and server
• ArcObjects
• Python
• SQL Server
• VB.NET
• ArcPad

Complete both technical (development) and analysis deliverables, such as:

• defining business and functional requirements
• system design and development
• testing and training
• documentation
• Provide GIS service, such as:
  • map production
  • data analysis and reporting
  • database management

Education Requirements – Knowledge & Skills:

• University Degree or Community college diploma with GIS content
• Previous experience in GIS or forestry science is considered an asset
• Team oriented individual with excellent communication and problem solving skills
