CARIS is seeking a Project Coordinator for a full-time position in our Fredericton office. The successful candidate will be working on projects and bids in a team environment. The Project Coordinator is a key partner in the team for systems and business analysts, and a key leader for project initiatives.
Candidates for this position should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Computer Science, Science or an Engineering-related field
- Knowledge/understanding of IT development lifecycle and methodologies and/or geomatics/GIS
- Experience managing projects both independently and in cooperation with others
Candidates for this position should have the following skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Negotiation skills or willingness to acquire negotiation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines/work within tight timescales
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to manage and prioritize both external demands and internal constraints
- Willingness to continuously evolve skill set
The following would be considered assets for this position:
- PMP course/designation or related experience
- Knowledge of geomatics/GIS
- Experience performing issue diagnosis, resolution and root cause analysis on all aspects of project management
- Ability to innovate solutions to issues and manage issues as they arise
- Project reporting experience
- Customer-facing experience
- Experience with software development project management
- Experience being part of the pre-sales process/bid management/member of a bid team
- Ability to write quality proposals and good presentation skills
- Knowledge of UML, MS Project, MS Excel, Mind Mapping software (e.g. FreeMind)
- Experience with Quality Assurance and ISO practices
