Position: Starbucks Barista Supervisor
This job contributes to store success by ensuring service experience standards are met and surpassed at all times during the shift. An additional component of this job is to assist the store manager with daily operating procedures such as maintaining quality store operations, promoting beverage and product sales and supervising associate development. Overall to insure total guest satisfaction through prompt and efficient food and beverage service, in a courteous and professional manner
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Marriott and Starbucks policies outlined in the Associate Handbooks
- Assists store manager in the hiring of new associates
- Coaches new hires through their learning
- Knows, follow, and directs other to follow all Standard Operation Policies related to your area(s).
- Ensures all company policies, standards and procedures are communicated effectively and maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
- Promote and practice aggressive hospitality through the Spirit to Serve Program of Marriott.
- Assists in store scheduling and adjusts staffing to meet store business hours.
- Ensures the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies and merchandise are ordered and stocked.
- Effectively communicates new product information to associates. Insure guest satisfaction at all times.
- Practice safe work habits and encourage others to do the same.
- Adhere to and enforces policies pertaining to appearance and hygiene standards.
- Knowledge of all equipment and safety procedures.
- Adhere to Marriott's Standard Operating Procedures for proper cash handling.
- Facilitates training and programming of the Micros system.
- Trains and develops associates to demonstrate all Starbucks customer service standards, operating standards and Star Skills.
- Acts as a role model while providing guidance and training to store associates on all the performance expectations listed in the Initial store training.
- Communicates store and associate concerns to the store manager in an effective manner.
- Is certified as an in store learning coach to facilitate on going training of new baristas.
- Responsible for ensuring the training integrity of baristas by coaching Initial Store Training
- Ensures all Starbucks standards are being followed.
- Maintaining accountability for store operations, associate development and promoting beverage and product sales.
- Contributes to store goals for increasing sales
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One Year of Lead or Supervisor experience in a hospitality setting preferred
- Successfully completes the Advanced Store Training Program
- Successfully completes the Initial Store Training Program
- Excellent listening skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good basic math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Detail orientated
- Good organization and time management skills
- Able to communicate perfectly in English, written and verbal, other languages very beneficial.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relates programs
- Friendly and outgoing
- Team player
- Enjoy meeting people

- Neat and well organized in his/her work environment

Starbucks Requirements
- Must complete the Barista examination with a 90% or better
- Must provide "Legendary Service"
