Responsibilities:
Within their scope of practice and in collaboration with patients and the health care team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides care for patients with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes. As the acuity or complexity increases and/or outcomes are not predictable, the LPN, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse provides nursing interventions, within their scope of practice as described in the LPN Act and Regulations and LPN Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The RN is accountable for creating the plan of care, that assignment of patients and delegating selected nursing functions to the LPN. The LPN is accountable for individual actions or practices within his/her scope of practice, including the acceptance of delegated functions and for decisions and actions taken in the provision of nursing care.
Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses
* Current registration with the Practical Nurses Licensing Board (PNLB) and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia (CLPNNS)
* Medication course required
* Hemodialysis experience preferred
* Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience working in a team environment
Hours of Work:
* casual relief
Salary: Licensed Practical Nurse:
$21.476 - $23.065 Hourly
