River Valley Health has an immediate opportunity for a permanent full-time Registered Nurse with the Post Anesthetic Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality post-operative assessment and care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit within the scope of professional nursing practice and in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of the Surgical Program.

Qualifications:

• Active registration in NANB
• Current BCLS certification
• Certification in IV therapy
• Minimum two years of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit or Critical Care Nursing
• Current certification in the following Delegated Medical Acts:
  • Defibrillation
  • Arterial lines
  • Treatment of dysrhythmias, extubation
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in advanced airway management
• Demonstrated assessment, organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to function independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities and complex patient care needs
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, teaching and team-building skills
• Oral interaction, reading and writing skills in English and oral interaction in French as demonstrated by a level 2+ certificate from the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour
