Essential Qualifications (Qualifications in bold must be verified on internal application forms):
- Active registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, or eligible for such registration.
- At least two (2) years acute care and medical surgical nursing experience in the past five years.
- Knowledge of the target population of Extra-Mural Services and available community services.
- Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated teaching ability.
- Must become proficient in the application of general and specialized nursing tasks to all age groups in the community setting within three (3) months from time of hire, i.e., Port-a-caths Hickman Lines, IV Therapy, Ambulatory pump utilization, etc.
- Demonstrated public speaking ability.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties in various community settings.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Valid drivers' license and a good driving record.
- Good previous work records.
- Must have the ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- All mandatory certifications must be up to date including BLS.
Must be regularly available to do standby (on call) for 8 to 16 hour periods when office is closed. The nurse must be able to respond in person if necessary within 30 to 45 minutes of responding to the call.
Although this position will be based at the Driscoll (Moncton) unit, the incumbent may also be required to work shifts at the Tantramar (Sackville) unit.

Basic Duties:
To holistically coordinate the care of each patient, incorporating the nursing profession's values of knowledge, theory and practice. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of patients and significant others in the delivery of care and collaborate with all members of the interdisciplinary team in this approach.
