Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) manages, directs and provides comprehensive patient care for a select patient population. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) integrates selected tasks and knowledge from medicine into a framework of advanced nursing practice. The NP works in close collaboration with primary medical consultant(s), nursing and interdisciplinary team. The NP also has the opportunity for input into clinical program development. The NP is directly responsible to the Director of Health Services with accountability to the Cardiovascular Division Head NP for clinical functions.

Qualifications:
* Masters Degree in Nursing
* Successful in Adult Nurse Practitioner Examination
* Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing an asset
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support expected to be complete within three to six months of employment
* 3 - 5 years of cardiovascular nursing/cardiology
* Advanced skills in physical assessment required
* Active membership in CCCN an asset
* Current registration or eligibility for registration with CRNNS
* Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills with an emphasis on leadership, decision-making critical thinking skills, motivation, communication skills, consultative approach and the ability to conceptualize and plan
* Evidence of initiative

Hours of Work:
* Long Assignment Full-Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
* December 22, 2008 until December 15, 2009

Salary: Specialty Nurse Practitioner
$ 38.6803 - $ 46.6202 Hourly
