Essential Qualifications:

1. Must be a Registered Nurse with an active registration with NANB
2. Must have at least two (2) years nursing experience.
3. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
     (Bilingual preferred).
4. Must complete the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training program.
5. Must be willing to commit to an on-call schedule.  
     (Must be no more than 30 minutes from hospital when on call).
6. All mandatory certifications must be up to date.
7. Must be able to work independently within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Must be able to demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude.
9. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity when providing crisis counseling.
10. Must have good assessment skills, including the ability to evaluate a situation and know
       when to ask for help.
11. Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job.
12. Must have a good performance, work and attendance records.

Basic Duties

The S.A.N.E. is responsible to remain current in the processes involved in the examination of the sexually assaulted female patient including physical assessment, forensic evidence collection, supportive counseling, appropriate documentation, and testifying in court..
