Gynaecology PACU/Day Surgery, Child Birth & Women’s Health, Women’s & Newborn Health Program

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Perioperative & Inpatient Care Team the Staff Nurse is responsible and accountable for the application of current theory and research in Women’s Health and delivery of family centred care.  The RN may at times be reassigned within the Childbirth & Women’s Health Care Team and will remain flexible and willing to cross-train within the Team consistent with the philosophy, objectives, mission and vision statement of the IWK Health Centre.  Shift flexibility is required to meet the operational needs of the women being serviced within this care team

Shifts: Monday to Friday, on call nights & weekends; flexibility in shifts required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required (candidates with commensurate experience and education will be considered).
• Recent PACU experience or ICU/CCU course required.
• Recent experience in other areas of Childbirth & Women’s Health Care Team.
• Flexibility to do on call as required.
• Registered, or eligible to be registered, with CRNNS required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS an asset, if not, must certify within the first year.
• Sound understanding of Family Centred Care required.
• Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.

Salary:

$27.8296-32.5231/Hour   
$33.6614 (with 25 years nursing experience)
