Based at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow Regular Part Time (0.2 FTE) Mental Health Services (Bargaining Unit dependant upon Successful Candidate’s discipline) Competition # PCHA-F09/04-025-CB
Position Summary: Works as part of a multi-disciplinary service delivery model, as a member of the Chronic Pain Services Delivery Team and the PCHA Mental Health Team.
Qualifications:
- Registered Psychologist, PHD preferred, Masters Level; Social Work, Nursing or Clinical Nurse Specialist required. Current registration or eligible for registration, with the applicable Licensing body required.
- Post-Graduate training in pain management preferred with certification of competence in pain management, or willing to obtain required.
- Clinical experience working within a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Chronic Pain team.
- Proven expertise in standard Psychological Assessment
- Previous experience in pain management preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in electronic communication, excellence in Microsoft Office products, including access and word required.

- Knowledge of chronic pain syndromes and impact of such on patients and their significant others.

- Planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical processing ability.

- Development and maintenance of good interpersonal relationships with clients and a focus in forming partnerships with other stakeholders to meet client needs.
- Demonstrated effective teaching skills for clients (individuals and groups), colleagues and students.
- Self starter, capability of working with minimal supervision.
- Contributes to an environment which supports personal and professional growth.
- Accept and use constructive criticism for personal and professional growth.
- Supports and delivers quality patent safety standards within the health authority.
- Responsible for contributing to the achievement of the health authority’s accreditation standards.
- This position requires travel to various locations and as such access to transportation is required
