Qualifications:

Required:

• Current registration (or eligibility) with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
• Minimum of one year acute care experience.
• The ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Certification in BCLS.
• Certification in ACLS.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to function well as a team member required.
• Experience providing patient education to individuals and groups.
• Commitment to complete current competencies in critical care nursing.

Preferred:

• B.Sc.N or BN degree.
• Critical Care Nursing Program.
• ENP/TNCC/ENPC, certification in a specialty area (Critical Care/ER).
• Current knowledge and experience in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/willingness to enroll.
• Two years recent demonstrated continuing nursing education.
