Position Summary: 

The Rehabilitation Aide is an active member of the Rehabilitation Services Team who is responsible for performing routine tasks under the delegation of a Physiotherapist\Occupational Therapist and\or Rehabilitation Services Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting clinical staff in supportive patient care, supportive service and equipment maintenance as well as supportive clerical functions as required. This is a dynamic position that requires an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Quality and innovative approaches to care are keys to a positive experience in this position.

The CEHHA Rehabilitation team provides Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services across the spectrum of care i.e. inpatients units, ambulatory (outpatient) services, long term care and home care\community services.

Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 education required.
  2. Minimum two years in the provision of patient care required.
  3. Past experience with Rehabilitation Services preferred.
  4. Demonstration of excellence in communication and interpersonal skills required.
  5. Basic proficiency in applications for Microsoft Office required. Ability to adapt to Meditech program requirements and other software programs as needed.
  6. Demonstration of organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required.
  7. Demonstration of skills\abilities in working collaboratively and effectively with others.
  8. Good judgment and observational skills to respond appropriately when delivering clinician prescribed interventions.
  9. Current BCLS certification required.
  10. Strong commitment to service provision, self learning and continuing education required.
  11. Possess a valid driver’s license.
  12. Access to a reliable vehicle is required.
  13. Previous work attendance may be considered.
