Qualifications:

Required:

• Current registration (or eligibility) with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
• The ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Certification in BCLS.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience providing patient education to individuals and groups.
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/willingness to enroll.
• Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work environments.
• Commitment to complete current competencies within the General Float Team.

Preferred:

• B.Sc.N or BN degree.
• Current Clinical experience and knowledge in maternal child nursing.
• Minimum of one year acute care experience.
• Perioperative course.
• CCNP.
• Certification in ACLS.
• Two years recent demonstrated continuing nursing education.
