Registered Nurse
Intensive Care Unit
Regular Full-time Position
St. Martha's Regional Hospital Site, Antigonish, Nova Scotia
Qualifications:
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
- BLS - C (current)
- Current certification in CPI or willingness to obtain
- Good work record; ability to work as member of the health care team
- ACLS certified preferred or willingness to obtain certification within six months of employment
- Computer literacy preferred
Demonstrated:
- Competence in ICU and Emergency patient care skills
- Competence in rhythm strip interpretation, defibrillation and code blue response
- Commitment to the philosophy of family centred care nursing
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and interpersonal skill
- Demonstrated skills in organization and priority-setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of GASHA's involvement with the "Safer Health Care Now Campaign"
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrates professional judgement and accountability when delegating or assigning patient care to RN's or LPN's
- Proven clinical knowledge and the ability to use sound professional judgement
- Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position
- Utilization of nursing process
- Team leading skills
- Good work and attendance record
