Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer/Director, Professional Practice Development, the Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, planning, executing and evaluating learning experiences for staff and for participating in the development and delivery of district core program and appropriate committee work. Within the scope of the mandate of the Professional Practice Development portfolio, this position promotes the advancement of clinical knowledge, skills, competencies and professional practice within Capital Health.
The Nurse Educator will work collaboratively as a member of the Medical-Surgical Resource Team and will provide advice and consultation consistent with the specialty patient populations served.
Please note, this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
*Eligibility for license with CRNNS
*Certificate in Basic Life Support C
*Minimum three to five years clinical experience in General Surgery, GI Medicine
*Experience in endoscopy considered an asset
*Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders
*Previous teaching experience which involves designing, implementing and evaluating both traditional and non-traditional methods of instruction preferred
*Recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in clinical practice and education
*Well developed verbal and written communication skills
*Understanding of computer applications
Hours of Work:
Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: Clinical Nurse Educator:
$34.7864 -$40.9917 Hourly
