Hospital-In-The-Home Manager, St. Martha’s Regional Hospital
Regular Full-time Position
Position Summary:
Reporting jointly to the Vice President Community Health and the Vice President Patient Care, this position is responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all cancer and supportive care services (inclusive of palliative care) throughout the district, within the framework of GASHA’s mission, values, strategic plan, goals and policies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership to the Hospital-in-the-Home Program at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Nursing required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licensed member of the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years management experience or equivalent
- Experience in planning, coordinating, delivering and monitoring cancer, supportive and hospice palliative care services
- Demonstrated knowledge of national and provincial cancer and palliative care guidelines and standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of district and community based services and resources as they pertain to cancer and supportive care and acute/chronic home care services
- Demonstrated high degree of organizational ability, interpersonal and communication skills, independent and collaborative decision-making skills and professional and clinical leadership ability
- Commitment to professional development. Willingness to enroll and/or maintain continuing education in management
- High ethical standards and integrity; works cooperatively and respectfully with others to further the goals of the client and organization by participating effectively as a team member, valuing and respecting individual contributions and sharing knowledge, experience and accountability for team efforts
- Exceptional planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, accuracy and process analysis ability
