Our client, a leading high-tech electronics manufacturer in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, is looking for a Director of Sales. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Sales will be on the forefront of marketing and selling a variety of high technological aerospace and defense offerings to clients. You will lead the pack when it comes to proof of concept sales. You will take control in business development conversations and/or proposals to military and government entities alike to ensure the successful sale of product development funding agreements based on innovative intangible products and concepts. You'll coach and mentor a team of sales professionals and will be integral in supporting customer demonstrations and trade shows with your team. You will have intimate involvement in market research and strategic planning, in order to forecast, plan, identify new business opportunities, and capture new business initiatives. You'll work closely with the Engineering team to ensure new products are developed that will meet emerging customer needs.
You are a Professional Engineer and an experienced business development expert with 10 to 15 years background in a related field. You're assertive, and you've built a reputation for success with government, military, and private sector leaders and are a skilled at identifying opportunities for cross-functionalities and new business opportunities. Your ability to promote a product is not based on tangible demonstrations alone – you can easily visualize technical concepts and translate these into operational effectiveness for a diverse client base. Your proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns for complex systems to government or armed forces is based on a demonstrated ability to establish and develop effective relationships with partners and suppliers. You are a strong leader with both a high energy level and outstanding integrity, and have received or are eligible to receive Secret Clearance. You are experienced, dedicated, and ready to lead the business development function with intriguing new technology that has innovative applications in a variety of industries.
