TV Producer (Requisition #14490)

Rogers TV, St. John's, Newfoundland, is seeking a TV Producer/Shooter-Editor to support its nightly flagship program Out of the Fog as well as its weekly food series One Chef, One Critic.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities will be EFP shooting and linear and non-linear editing (Avid)
- Duties will also include directing, audio, lighting and graphics as required for Out of the Fog, One Chef, One Critic as well as other Rogers TV programming and event coverage as required.
- Assist with the scheduling and planning of various programming elements, segments and productions
- Support/complete other duties and projects as assigned by the Supervising Producer/Regional Manager.
- Individual will also assist with creative development and production of station I.D.'s, program promos, program feedback bumpers and other on-air content as required.
- Ensure that programming meets identified standards and contain appropriate content
- Train, critique and supervise volunteers and volunteer production crews
- Liaise with community groups, producers and the general public
- Work with production engineering on equipment faults and failures
- Conduct vehicle checks and oversee vehicle maintenance and cleaning
- General office duties, reports and special assignments as required
- To be knowledgeable of and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, both legislatively mandated and as outlined in company policy
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
- Customer Service Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Adaptability, Initiative, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Individual Accountability
- Innovation/Creativity, Problem Solving/Judgment, Achievement Orientation, Listening/Understanding and Responding
- A minimum of 3 years professional television industry experience with EFP camera operation and linear and non-linear (Avid) editing systems.
- Formal training and or experience in lighting, audio production, graphics and multi-camera directing.
- Post-secondary diploma in television production
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and perform to high standards in a dynamic work environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient in MS Office (Work, Excel, Outlook), including ability to understand and manipulate databases.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends under Labour Canada Averaging Permit.
