Job Title:      Events Coordinator
Location:      Nova Scotia Branch Office – Halifax, NS
Reports to:  Executive Director/Fundraising Coordinator
Term:            Contract (one year) – may be extended

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the national volunteer organization committed to reducing the burden of |kidney disease.

Role:
Reporting to the Fundraising Coordinator or the Executive Director, the coordinator is responsible for the direct leadership, support, coordination and administration of successful, cost effective revenue generation activities.  In particular, this position will oversee the annual March Drive Campaign, particularly the new on-line initiative and, in consultation with the Fundraising Coordinator, will direct the establishment of a hike fundraiser throughout Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the new initiative of on-line fundraising for the March Drive Campaign
  • Distribute March Drive promotional material
  • Ensure that all information is recorded accurately and follow-up information is provided
  • With branch staff, identify and support the development of the "The Gift of Life" hike in communities throughout Nova Scotia
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for events
  • Secure appropriate sponsors for events and successfully manage the relationship
  • Ensure that all records are updated and recorded
  • Tracking of receipts and obtaining information from chapters throughout the province
  • Assist chapters in Nova Scotia with an on-line campaign

Required Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Public Relations or Fundraising.  Other post-secondary education may be considered
  • A minimum of three years related experience working with volunteers in the voluntary sector
  • Proven communication and presentation skills
  • Well developed competencies in MS office and web-based applications
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Previous non-profit work experience would be considered an asset
  • A valid drivers license and ability to travel is required
