Full Time Permanent Legal Assistant
Location: Halifax

Burchell Hayman Parish is a Halifax based, business oriented law firm, providing a wide range of legal services to regional, national and international clients. The firm's clients include multinational corporations, major banks and insurance companies, all levels of government, individuals, small businesses and institutions.

Job Title:   Full Time Permanent Legal Assistant 
                  Probate, Wills, Estates, Trusts and Collections as well as Aboriginal Law
 
Start Date: As soon as possible.

Burchells is currently seeking an experienced legal assistant to provide secretarial support to our legal team.

Candidates for the legal assistant position must have completed a recognized Legal Administrative Program or possess a Paralegal diploma.  Other qualifications include the following:

  • Experience working at a law firm would be preferred in the areas of probate, wills, estates, trusts and collection work.
  • Candidates should be mature, have a pleasant, outgoing personality and possess excellent computer keyboarding skills, grammar and organizational skills, and be team players.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with clients and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in MS Word, Outlook, Hummingbird DM Extensions, Amicus Attorney, and Legal Vision would be definite assets.
