We are currently seeking Site Acquisition Specialist(s) to deliver site & permit acquisition of EastLink’s wireless networks located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

The successful candidate will ensure operating costs related to site leases are minimized while the Site Acquisition & Permitting process is completed on time to meet the network deployment schedule.
This position has the greatest impact on delivery of wireless sites on time to meet site construction deadlines and network launch dates.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

• Create and evolve site lease document templates (working with the legal dept).
• Negotiate with Landlords and Land use Authorities to obtain legal rights to build the required telecommunication infrastructure: ensure the sites leases are secured and proper land use Authority approval is granted in time for construction. (Issues the ready for construction milestone to Network Implementation)
• Obtain required building permits for all EastLink wireless broadband towers
• Ensure EastLink’s compliance to the new 120 days public consultation process establish by IC effective January 1st 2008 for communication towers above 100 feet in height
• Support RF Engineering and Network Implementation functional units in order to speed up the network deployment process and deliver the best possible network
• Provide progress status on the Site Acquisition and Permit application of each individual site in order for the Engineering and Implementation teams to plan their work accordingly
• Negotiate master agreements with companies who own a significant amount of Land or infrastructure suitable for installation of telecommunication facilities
• Manage collocation requests with Government and third parties communication towers
• Establish, follow & improve site acquisition metrics
• Establish relationships with municipal government authorities to ease and speed up the permitting process.
• Deal with various Site & Permit Acquisition issues (photo-simulation, strata meetings, etc)
• Manage site lease renewals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Commerce/Law or equivalent with 7 years of relevant telecommunication experience in a similar position
• Real Estate experience would be asset.
• Understanding of basic wireless (RF) principles & technology
• Good relationship/contact with land use Authorities, Municipal Governments and large Atlantic Canada property management firms an asset
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Excellent computer skills
• Must possess a valid drivers license.
