Our client, an international organization with business units in both the manufacturing and service sectors, is looking for a senior legal expert with exceptional business acumen to actively contribute to the development of corporate strategy. Excellent decision-making skills and sound judgment are imperative for success in this role. You will serve as the key legal advisor on all major business transactions. Your extensive knowledge will provide senior management and all business units with advice on all legal matters and their implications on current and future business decisions. You will also negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements, and have the leadership skills necessary to guide and inspire an internal legal team and manage outside counsel. Other responsibilities will include assessing, advising and overseeing legal work related to business transactions, intellectual property issues, acquisitions, risk management and federal and provincial legislation and regulatory matters.
As an experienced legal professional you will have 10+ years of relevant experience dealing with corporate legal issues at either a major law firm or corporation. You are a flexible, highly energetic individual who can thrive in a challenging environment that requires spearheading legal matters while participating in executive-level decision making. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
