Position Overview:
The Team Leader for Personal Insurance is a highly motivated individual who is energized about being a team leader in a dynamic environment. Your positive attitude and team oriented nature will help drive the success of the underwriters in providing brilliant service and exceeding service levels. You strive to continuously improve team cohesiveness and establish high levels of employee engagement. This position will set the direction and standards both internally and externally and will have responsibility for the delivery for Personal Lines.
You will develop and coach team members utilizing effective communication skills to achieve service level targets, maintain quality and to provide superior service to our brokers

What you will achieve in this role:
- Develop technical expertise in underwriting through the coaching and mentoring of Underwriters.
- Significantly contribute to the development of the underwriting Strategy while driving the Personal Insurance market profile.
- Service Levels are met and team is motivated to achieve maximum performance
- Deliver technical expertise within an allocated portfolio while providing guidance on all Personal Lines opportunities.
- Provide brilliant service to our brokers and clients through effective communication and relationship building.
What you bring to this role:
- Proven ability to coach & develop individuals
- Analytical abilities to resolve problems and implement appropriate solutions
- Ability to manage delivery of service essentials in a demanding broker environment
- Positive attitude and good overall business sense
- Strong communication, negotiation, organization and planning skills
- 3-5 years of experience in underwriting and leadership position
- Excellent verbal and written communication, superior customer service skills, excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Solid understanding of the P&C insurance industry.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Office software
- Post secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent experience
- CIP designation an asset
