Electronic Health Records (EHR) Data Quality Specialist
Specific duties include:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop protocols to ensure demographic and administrative data in the Client Registry and Provider Registry of the provincial Electronic Health Record system is standardized and accurate;
- Review Client Registry/Provider Registry management reports and identify data quality issues;
- Provide training and education sessions for stakeholders regarding the data collection standards, process, and data quality issues, and;
- Engage stakeholders in the process of identifying and addressing data quality issues to the degree possible, create an understanding of the shared ownership of data quality and the teamwork required to support it.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a Health or Health Information/Informatics related field supplement with three (3) years of experience in a health or health information/informatics related field or a combination of appropriate work experience and education will be considered;
- Experience with data analysis would be an asset;
- Knowledge of the Newfoundland and Labrador health system, in particular, registration and record management practices, and associated data collection issues would be an asset;
- Skilled at establishing good working relationships with stakeholders and fostering teamwork, and;
- Strong communication and presentation skills, combined with experience in providing education sessions and training are required.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information was established by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to provide quality information to health professionals, the public, and health system decision-makers. Through collaboration with the health system, the Centre supports the development of standards and maintains key health databases, prepares and distributes health reports, and supports and carries out applied health research and evaluations. The Centre's mandate also includes the development of a confidential and secure Health Information Network that will serve as the foundation for the provincial Electronic Health Record.
