Respiratory Therapist

Regional Health Authority B - Miramichi has a vacancy for a Respiratory Therapist (RT2) to assist the Physician in the diagnosis, treatment and promotion of the well being of patients with Respiratory and associated disorders

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an approved training course in Respiratory Therapy.
• Current registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CSRT).
• Current registration with the New Brunswick Association of Respiratory Therapists (NBART).
• Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication in English with a demonstrated oral proficiency in French at an intermediate plus level (2+).
• Current Certification in CPR, and Airway Management (Intubations/Extubation) is required. Including demonstrated ability to procure of Blood gas samples, interpretation of values and independent subsequent related parameter settings.
• Demonstrated ability to intubate/extubate or other successful maintenance of airway management followed by appropriate oxygenation in Cardiac/Respiratory arrest situations. (i.e. . code blue)
• Demonstrated successful insertion of naso-gastric tube.
• Successfully demonstrated ability to provide trach care and trach changes.
