Essential Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology and Advanced Certification in Histology.
- Current registration with the NBSMLT.
- Extensive (minimum five years) clinical and supervisory experience in a medium to large Histology Laboratory.
- Satisfactory prior work history and attendance record.
- Demonstrated excellent supervisory ability, problem solving skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff under their supervision and administrative staff.
- All mandatory certifications must be up to date.

Basic Duties
Ensure that the function of the Section is maximized by efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, supplies and procedures. Identify, evaluate, recommend and implement changes in staff levels, instrumentation, methodologies, budget, long and short range plans, testing capabilities or other laboratory functions under the direction of the Medical Head of the Section and the Administrative Director. Monitor and report on the Section function and needs including workload, productivity, staffing, quality control and quality assurance, capital equipment and budget. Ensure that the Section functions according to laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.
