Essential Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the Canadian Board of Registration of EEG Technologists (CBRET) and preferably with the Board of Registration of EMG Technologists of Canada (BRETC).
  • Must be a member of CAET and AETC.
  • Must be bilingual in accordance with South-East Regional Health Authority policy, ie. ability to speak and write English and ability to speak French.
  • Knowledge of Evoked Potentials is an asset.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification or must attain within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have good previous work and attendance records.
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties.
  • All mandatory certifications must be up to date.

Basic Duties

To perform EEG and Evoked Potential Studies.  To assist neurologists and physiatrist in the performance of EMG studies.  The technologist must strive to optimize quality, speed, efficiency and cost effectiveness involving the Neuroelectrodiagnostics Department.
