River Valley Health has an immediate opportunity for a permanent full-time Ultrasound Technologist at the Oromocto Public Hospital in Oromocto.

The Ultrasound Technologist performs abdominal, pelvic obstetrical and Doppler examinations.  You must be able to work on your own under the supervision of a radiologist through digital transmission of ultrasound images to another facility via PACS.  Job duties also include image processing, patient documentation, selecting correct instrumentation, arranging patient appointments when necessary, maintaining equipment and performing image systems quality checks.  The successful applicant will be on the on-call roster to cover weekends/holidays at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on a rotational basis.  Must be able to travel.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an approved Diagnostic Ultrasound Program and certification with the ARDMS in Abdomen, OB/GYN scanning
• Current registration with the CSDMS
• Knowledge of vascular scanning an asset
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform assigned tasks accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, interpersonal and team building skills
