Our client, based at Saint Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is one of six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health created by the Public Health Agency of Canada in 2006. Focused on the practice of public health, the NCCDH will facilitate the sharing of knowledge to better include evidence about the determinants of health in policy and public health practice decisions at all levels of the public health system across Canada.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you are responsible to lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of collaborative actions to engage the participation of front-line public health practitioners, policy makers and researchers. You will also be responsible for advancing the knowledge of early child development and the broad determinants of population health policies and practices so that they result in equitable health and health outcomes for all Canadians.
As the ideal candidate you possess solid expertise and knowledge of current theory and research relevant to the social determinants of health, public health practice, and early child development. You have superior project management skills and excellent relationship building capacity complemented by a Masters Degree in Public Health or equivalent.
