The Health Information Services and Informatics Department has the responsibility of stewardship of health records – preparation, assembly, storage, security, access management and security/confidentiality.  It has an additional role in linking clinical information and operational information.  The department supports the corporate Information Management Committee in its role to guide the development, implementation and evaluation of the plans and processes designed to meet the organization’s information needs.  The department has a fundamental partnership role with the Information Management and Technology department in advancing the information agenda of EH.

Duties:

This management position in the Health Information Services and Informatics Department reports to the Director and will have regional responsibility in a leadership role for the department and Eastern Health. The Manager of Information Client Services is a region-wide policy lead with responsibility to build and support processes that ensure client access to clinical information and to empower end users of the information to effectively use the information in their operations and reporting.  Information clients include EH programs, departments and Executive. The position involves strategic planning, policy development, team leadership, cross continuum integration and project management.  Developing and disseminating reporting expertise and tools will be a major function.  Achieving comparable levels of access to information and client information expertise across region continues to be a priority.  Expertise in report development and the use of business intelligence tools will be assets for the position.  The position serves as the EH operation linkages with the CIHI Portal Group. The position may manage staff at one or more sites. The position will be involved in providing staff, student and physician education/in-service.

Qualifications:

This position requires expertise in health records management typically acquired through completion of a certified health records technology program.  Candidates will require a university degree or an equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience. 

Salary: In accordance with the Hay Management Pay Plan
