Responsibilities:
The Health Information Services Manager is a primary partner and liaison to care providers within the District, regionally and provincially, responsible for creating and making available a comprehensive and accurate patient health record.
The HIS Manager demonstrates a broad based understanding of growing complexities of health issues and activities; creates a compelling vision of shared goals and achievements of progress in improving people's health through innovative and effective utilization of information management practices and procedures. The Manager must have excellent communication and interpersonal leadership skills to coach and mentor others, critical thinking to analyse complex business processes looking at impact to patients, employees, and physicians and implement changes through creative and innovative approaches. An ability to understand a variety of technical applications is required as many systems interface with the centralized electronic health record. The manager promotes life long learning and engages others to establish a collaborative, results oriented, team environment.
The HIS Manager influences changes based on current and prospective health care practices to elevate health and wellness through people centred processes. With a thorough understanding of the spirit & the letter of the governing legislation; policies & procedures; practices surrounding privacy & confidentiality; client & partner business processes; people and organizational needs; and innovations in information management; the HIS Manager engages and coalesces the appropriate partners and resources to further the strategic directions of the organization.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree from a Health care or Business program
* Combination of experience and training may be considered. Example: Certification CHE, CHIM, COACH, PMI, etc. Professional registration as appropriate.
* Minimum 5 years experience at a management level, some of which must be in a unionized, complex environment
* Experience in business process analysis, project management, information management
* Experience in health care would be an asset

Hours of Work:
Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: Commensurate on experience and qualifications.
