Position Summary:

The role is a management position that assumes the administrative responsibilities for the staff and functions in regard to Telecommunications, Registration and Health Information within the five facilities of the Cumberland Health Authority. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Health Information Management and/or Graduate of an approved program for Health Record Administrators, at the Certificate level is required, or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
• Registration with the Canadian College of Health Record Administrators preferred.
• Supervisory experience in Health Information is required.
• Minimum five years continuous direct experience in Health Information functions would be an asset.
• Member in good standing in the Nova Scotia Health Record Association preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Office, Integrated Digital Dictation/Transcription Systems, Electronic Coding and Abstracting Systems and knowledge of interfaces required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills using the principles of total quality management.
• Demonstrated skill and ability in working collaboratively and effectively with others.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in change management, team building, conflict management and development of staff.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
