Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist is responsible to ensure safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems (inpatient and outpatient) and supervise pharmacy support staff. As well, to identify drug-related problems and initiate steps to resolve them. Pharmacists also work on selected medical services, participate in medical rounds, provide discharge medication calendars and counseling to patients and make therapeutic recommendations to the medical team.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a university program in Pharmacy
* Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
* Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
* Minimum two years experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
* Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
Hours of Work:
* Long Assignment Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
* Beginning June 16, 2008 until June 16, 2010
Salary: Pharmacist:
$33.1020 - $40.3502 Hourly
