Position Scope:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist is accountable to the Lab Manager or designate and is responsible for performing Laboratory procedures following established methodology.  In addition, the successful candidate may be required to work at associated phlebotomy clinics and/or other sites in South West Health, and be readily available for on call duty.  This position may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and night shifts. 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Licensed with NSCMLT and currently registered with CSMLS
• Previous experience in Laboratory or related services preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work as a member of the Laboratory team
• Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate a commitment to personal development
• Must possess coping skills conducive to a busy Laboratory
